“I am myself and my surroundings” - An illustrated Creative Writing Masterclass with Marina Red

Inspired by Rosalind Sandhu aka Simmi’s exhibition To Be or to Burgeon, this illustrated creative writing masterclass with Marina Red will take its participants on a journey to discover the connectivity with the nature they find in their own lives.  During the class, participants will be invited to focus on their breath and will be led through a visualisation practice where they will be given the chance to discover how both the conscious and subconscious mind have distinct relationships with the objects that surround them.  

Drawing on writing practices used by such poets as Jorge Guillen, Paul Valery, and Rafael Alberti and Ortega Y Gasset's philosophies, Marina will guide you through her creative process to facilitate you to write a piece which encompasses the exaltation and joy that we gain from a phenomenological interconnectedness with our botanical surroundings.   We will then design a piece of zine style artwork combining your words and Simmi’s artwork which will be unique to you.
